Our Story

Hello everyone!

My name is Marsha Dzilic and I am the proud owner of Ma's Beauty. My ethnicity is Māori and Bosnian. I am 21 years old. I was born and raised in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

I decided to leave High School at 16 years old to pursue my dream of becoming a Beauty Therapist and owning my own business.

I was 18 years old when I graduated with a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and when I opened my business Ma's Beauty on the 1st of December 2022.

As a salon owner I believe it is important for myself to continue to upskill and enhance my knowledge. I hold multiple beauty and business qualifications to ensure my clients receive the best service they possibly can.

I am passionate about making people feel confident. I pour my heart and soul into what I do and that is because deep down I know this is my purpose.

I opened Ma's Beauty because I love making people feel good about themselves but later on discovered I also love inspiring people to follow their passion.

A few highlights during my time in the beauty industry, I was hand selected by EIT | Te Pūkenga to be profiled and acknowledged for my achievements and to be used in their promotional resources in an effort to inspire future students. I have been featured in my local newspaper Hawkes Bay Today twice. I received The Youth Potential Award 2023 by The Hastings District Council. I was selected as a Finalist for The NZ Student of The Year Award 2024 by The NZ Association of Registered Beauty Professionals Inc.
